Josephine Croser is a children’s author with a remarkable output of titles. While her principal publisher is Era Publications, she has also been published by Scholastic and Nelson. Her many titles cover both fiction and nonfiction in picture books, novels and classroom readers.
Writing is in her family genes. Jo’s father was Hans Mincham AM, “The Story of the Flinders Ranges”. Her husband, Nigel Croser "Max the Sheep" and their daughter, Joelie Croser “The Night Dragon” are also published Era authors.
Jo works as the librarian at a private school. She lives on a small farm near Milang in South Australia, where she keeps alpacas, sheep and various breeds of chickens, ducks and geese. She is also visited at times by the eastern brown snake, one of the most dangerous reptiles in the world. All of this is part of the stimulus for her writing both fiction and nonfiction.
Nigel is a school teacher. As writers for the children’s and educational markets, Jo and Nigel are able to describe the challenges and joys of creating simple texts that are entertaining and engaging for early readers.
